Travelling to the South of Scotland is much easier than people usually expect. Whether by car, train, bus or aeroplane this section provides the main stations, motorways, train lines and airports that can be reached from most of the major UK and European Cities.

By Road

The South of Scotland is easily accessable by road and the route starts and finishes near to main roads.

By Rail

There are stations at Stranraer, 5 miles from Portpatrick at the start of the route and Dunbar, 6 miles from Cockburnspath at the end of the route.

The only station on the route it'self is at Sanquhar which can be used either to split the route or as a starting point for many short walks.
